DR. EGIDIO P. ELIO
Chairman Emeritus, UST Pax Romana Alumni Association (2023 – 2024)

He was the UST Pax Romana CCC President from 1976 to 1977.

He was also the Executive Secretary of UST Student Organizations Coordinating Council, first President of UST Medicine Student Council and Chairman of the Central Board of Student Council Presidents. He also served as student representative during the first visit to UST of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta in 1977 and St. Pope John Paul II in 1981.

As a student leader, he was recognized by UST with the Manuel Quezon Leadership Award twice (pre-med and medicine proper), and UST Pax Romana and Medicine Student Council that he led received the Pope Leo XIII Communitarian Award.

Dr. Elio is a specialist in Urology practicing at St. Luke’s Medical Center. He pioneered the Philippine Urologic Manpower Program that endeavored to provide urologists to the “Urologistless” areas of the country.

His vast humanitarian work has been recognized with The Outstanding Filipino Physicians Award from Jaycees Philippines, St. Luke’s Medical Center Achievement Award, Philippine Urological Association Community Service Award, UST High School Diamond Jubilee Achiever Award, The Outstanding Alumni of Science Tribute (TOAST) from the UST College of Science, Distinguished Thomasian Alumni Award from UST Alumni Association, The Outstanding Thomasian Alumni (TOTAL) Award – the highest award bestowed by UST to its alumni, and “Bayani ng Kalusugan” Award from Pres. Benigno Aquino.

He is married to Dr. Thelma Marie, an Obstetrician-Gynecologist. They have three children: Dr. Adrian Christopher (Radiologist), Dr. Patrick Bernard (Ophthalmologist) and Dr. Charlene Lorraine (Dermatologist).
